I chose to lead an interactive workshop on creating a LinkedIn Account. I chose this for several reasons. This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at a multi-billion dollarc orporate company as an analyst. Being there, I was with students from colleges all over the US, such as USC, Penn State, Cornell, and UMaimi to name a few. I realized that everyone had one thing in common, and that was a LinkedIn account to grow and network with others in their specific field. I had created an account very late into my junior year, and didn't realize how much I missed out on until I learned that many of them had LinkedIn accounts since high school! I decided that for the freshmen in COR, it would be very good for them to have an account and network early on to get a head start in college. It is an incredible tool to create professional relationships and hopefully, something they take advantage of during their years here studying at Cortland.
