The Didascaleion served as the College Yearbook from 1926-2003 when it was finally disbanded (there was no yearbook for the year 2000 published). The yearbooks evolved overtime as did the school. The name, Didascaleion (or "Did" for short, commonly referred to by students) represents "teaching school" or "teaching place." This was appropriate since the institution at the time in (1926), was in fact a Normal School, training future teachers. It should be noted that during several years, the yearbook changed names from the Didascaleion. From 1971-1978 the name of the yearbook constantly changed. In 1971 it was unnamed. In 1972 it was unnamed. In 1973 it was called "Metamorphosis." In 1974 it was called the "People's Book." In 1975 it was called "People's Communication." In 1976 it was unnamed but printed just as "Cortland State." In 1977 it was called "Changes." in 1978 it was unnamed but printed just as "Cortland."
