I chose to focus my topic on health and wellness because it is something I can personally relate to throughout my college experience. Through both research and personal experience, I have learned that health and wellness significantly impact a student's overall academic performance. Unfortunately, I've witnessed many college students, especially during their freshman and sophomore years, struggling with their health and well-being. College is a major life transition that brings a great deal of stress on both the body and mind. Adapting to the demands of college involves navigating through many challenges, and it can easily take a toll on one's physical and mental health.
My goal for this presentation was to equip my COR-101 students with practical strategies for building healthy habits and to introduce them to campus resources that can support their well-being throughout their college journey. I am hopeful that giving them the necessary knowledge and tools to prioritize their health and wellness, will empower them to make positive choices, that will not only enhance their well-being but also contribute to their academic success in the future.
