Abstract
Astronomy for Your Whole Family, Part I (found in the last issue of Taproot) concluded with a discussion of two of the most well-known star patterns as seen from Earth's northern hemisphere: the Big and Little Dippers. Not only are they among the most recognized collections of stars in our night sky, they also serve the important function of marking the direction of true north from the heavens.
