Abstract
Someone observed in a committee meeting the other day char marketing is not a strong suit of most fish & wildlife agencies. We tend to decide what we think ., people want, or what we think they should want, and give it to them. People are surprised at the success of the "Becoming an Outdoors Woman" program. [They] shouldn't be. That program is a direct res ult of asking women what kept them from participating in outdoor activities, [and] what it would take to get them out there. We need to involve the folks we want to recruit, find out what they think would get them involved. Then, more importantly, we need to do those things.
