The presentation that I gave to my class was about personal wellness. As first years, it can be difficult to adjust to college; therefore, it is important that they know how to take care of themselves. In my presentation, I read to my students this definition of personal wellness: "The action of practicing wellness means that you are able to prioritize your personal well-being and practice strategies to maintain wellness in all four categories." (California Northstate University College of Medicine). However, I went through the categories and explained what they meant. I focused on their physical health, talking about sleep schedules, and I discussed the importance of recognizing the stressors in their life and how to manage them. I cited a study from Penn State where they mentioned that even an hour more of sleep will help improve their health and help them remain more alert.
